Where
a physiotherapist can work in the UK?
In
UK, a physiotherapist can work in different areas such us elderly care,
intensive care, mental health, occupational health, orthopaedics, outpatients’
departments, paediatrics, stroke services or women’s health. First, it is
better to work in different departments to get more experience in different
specialties and also to know which one will you prefer.
Besides,
some physiotherapist work for local authorities or the private sector. In that
case, a physiotherapist can work in private hospitals and clinics, in armed
services, in sport clinics, professional support clubs, gyms and leisure
centres, in charities and voluntary organizations, in nursing homes and day
centres for elderly people, in schools and children’s centres and in GP
practices and health centres.
Since
there are many opportunities to work, physiotherapist may first choose to work
in private practice and, once they get more experience, make progress and open
their own practice to become self-employed.
Well done!
